Troon men won their first league match of the season on Saturday 13th against Jets at Prestwick on Saturday. The set scores were 25-22, 25-22, 21-25, 25-19. So many good things to report including middle and outside attack and serving. Well done guys. In the considered words of Alan McMurdo – ” wooooo hoooo “.
Troon women had a fairly straight forward win over Jets also at Prestwick after a tight first set by 3 sets to 0. Hannah Grant served and hit well when she bothered to get off the net.The squad was run fully.
Troon 2nd men put up a brave fight against South Ayrshire but succumbed in the end by five sets to nil.
The women’s second team lost a tight match against Glasgow International by 4 sets to 1. Hair , Duncan and Jones were the best for Troon. Special notes – Maddie Little blocked twice and on one smash it was possible to see the ground under Natalie Caldwell’s feet. She is undergoing tests to make sure she has not suffered side effects to reentry to the earth’s atmosphere.
